plane Bohemia
constructor of this aircraft was known Czech aviation pioneer and designer ing. Oldrich Haller. Already in November and December 1918 the aircraft was built by the project in a hangar at Bory association Bohemia in Pilsen. Association of Bohemia was founded before the First World War. Built aircraft because it bore the name "Bohemia" and a serial number, thus marking it "Bohemia B-5". A number of parts for the construction of new aircraft B-5 supplied by local businesses and Pilsen supporters of aviation, such as race JKRUDOLF, Plant Frantiek Dezort, sisters Emilie and Marie Klbrovy. refinishing elegant biplane first flew on April 27, 1919. It flew legendary Rudolf Polaneck airport Bory near Pilsen. His debut public performance was on May Day. It flew over Pilsen and scattered from the air flyers and promotional brochures to air manifesting crowds . B-5 aircraft crashed early as Saturday, May 17, 1919, after returning from a flight over Pilsen to greet President Masaryk. Although the aircraft after the crash looked quite devastated Bohemia association immediately set to repair his plane and was thus essentially rebuilt and took off again for six weeks!
The first airplane of Czechoslovak production was also at that time quite small. It was a classic two-seater biplane reinforced with an open cab. The wings were covered with canvas. The fuselage was classic lattice design square shape. Seats airmen were separated, passengers sat in the center of gravity directly between the wings, pilot in the rear cockpit. The fuselage was mostly covered with canvas, only bow around the engine was covered with aluminum sheet, hbettrupu then covered the body of veneer. The proceedings were double, installed in each cabin. Radios were so tiller with the steering wheel on the end could only lean forward and backward, lateral roll the airplane was controlled by turning the steering wheel right or left. Transfers from management to steer the wire. The propeller was a classic two-blade wooden, diameter and 2.3 m. At its widest point the sheet was 18 cm.
The engine was completely unique. Structurally it was the original four-cylinder Wright brothers from their legendary pioneering aircraft produced under license with the engine just in Germany. The engine was modified after the design. Haller, so that increased his speed to 1400 rpm and engine performance is increased by about 20% to 40 horses. The engine itself filled with cooling water weighed about 100 kg.
Color machine design was simple, all covering cloth remained in their original natural bleached color, painted with clear lacquer, all other surfaces (veneer body fuselage, landing gear and struts and aluminum housing bow) were painted according to the testimony of witnesses in white. On the sides of the hull was visible sign type, consisting of black letters "B 5".
